Terms of Use
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms cover the HandShake website at handshake.fit, the waitlist, and the HandShake app at app.handshake.fit. HandShake is operated by Morpheus Capital LLC, a company registered in Delaware, USA ("we" and "us"). By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you use HandShake for a company, you agree for that company too, and confirm you're allowed to.
How we handle personal information is in our privacy notice.
Early access
- HandShake isn't open to customers yet. Joining the waitlist is free and doesn't create an account or promise you a place or a date.
- The app is invite-only while it's in early access. Features can change, be paused or be removed, and there may be bugs and interruptions.
- Early access is free unless we agree otherwise in writing. Pricing will be announced before we open, and nothing you're using will start costing money without you agreeing first.
Your account
- You sign in with your Google account. Keep it secure, and tell us straight away at privacy@handshake.fit if you think someone else has used it.
- A workspace's owner decides who on the team can use HandShake and which contacts each person sees, and can remove people.
- You must be at least 18.
Using HandShake properly
You agree not to:
- send spam, or messages that are deceptive, harassing, threatening or unlawful
- contact people who have asked not to hear from you, or ignore an opt-out
- pretend to be someone else, or hide who a message is really from
- break the rules of the services HandShake connects to, such as Google's, LinkedIn's or Slack's
- upload anything you don't have the right to use, or anything harmful such as malware
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, overload or probe HandShake, or copy, resell or reverse-engineer it
- use HandShake to make decisions about people's employment, credit, housing or insurance
The messages you send are yours to answer for
HandShake writes drafts. It never sends email for you: you send each message yourself, from your own accounts and in your name. So every message is yours, and you're responsible for it. [CONFIRM: if HandShake ever sends approved drafts by itself (the "autopilot" on the homepage), update this section first.]
- You're responsible for following the laws on outreach where you and the people you contact are, such as anti-spam, data protection and marketing rules (for example CAN-SPAM in the US, GDPR and PECR in the UK and EU, and CASL in Canada) and the rules on texting people.
- You're responsible for having a lawful reason to keep and use each contact's details in HandShake, and for telling people what you do with them where the law requires it.
- If you share documents on tracked links, you're responsible for telling recipients that views are recorded where the law requires it.
Your content and data
- Your contacts, messages, notes, documents and everything else you or your team put into HandShake stay yours.
- You give us permission to store, copy and process them, including with the AI services described in the privacy notice, only to run HandShake for you, keep it secure and fix problems.
- You confirm you have the right to put them into HandShake, and to connect the accounts you connect.
- You can export your contacts to a spreadsheet at any time. [CONFIRM: what happens to a workspace's data when it stops using HandShake, and how quickly it is deleted.]
Connected accounts
When you connect Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, LinkedIn, Google Messages or iMessage, you let HandShake use them as the privacy notice describes. You can disconnect them at any time. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.
AI-written content
- HandShake uses AI to research, summarise and write. AI can be wrong, out of date or incomplete, even with the checks HandShake runs.
- Read every draft and check anything that matters, such as facts, figures, names and commitments, before you send it. You decide what's sent.
- Research comes from public sources and may be inaccurate. It isn't advice of any kind.
Our part
- HandShake, its software and its design belong to us. These terms don't give you any rights in them beyond using HandShake.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
- We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts HandShake or other people at risk. You can stop using HandShake at any time.
No warranty
HandShake is provided "as is" and "as available", especially during early access. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or about the results you'll get.
Limits on our liability
- To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost business, lost data or damage to reputation.
- Our total liability for anything to do with HandShake is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and [AMOUNT].
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
If your use of HandShake, or a message you send with it, leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, unless we caused the problem.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and any dispute will be handled by the courts of [JURISDICTION]. [CONFIRM: governing law, courts, and whether consumers keep their local rights.]
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters for people already using HandShake, we'll tell them before it applies. Carrying on using HandShake after that means you accept the new terms.
